COVID-19 Procedures Effective June 12, 2020

Hello my dear, current and future clients, students and friends.

As you know I have suspended my reflexology practice for the last 3 months in order to stop the spread of the Corona Virus. In order to ensure the health and safety of my clients, students and myself, I have put in place strict protocols and procedures as outlined by the Government of Ontario, the Workplace Safety and Prevention Services, RAC and the Public Health Unit of Ontario to ensure a safe treatment space.

There is an on-line self-assessment if you’re worried you were exposed to COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) or have symptoms. You will get a recommendation on what to do next: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/selfassessment/#q0

or at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/

Please call or email for an appointment or to enquire about a course.

New Procedures for a treatment, course training or consultation.

1. Complete a pre-screening questionnaire. No services will be performed on ill, symptomatic, or at-risk clients.

2. Please come at your appointed time and wait in your car or on my front patio, weather permitting. I will let you in when the treatment room is ready.

3. Come alone to your appointment.

4. Social distancing will be adhered to in the course scenario, therefore I will be limiting class size to 2 students per class.

5. Wear a clean cloth or disposable mask. If you need one, I will provide a disposable mask for $2.00 or a cloth mask for $5.00.

6. Outside food or drinks will not be permitted.

7. Use hand sanitizer upon arrival and one will be available in the treatment room.

8. Bring/wear socks to walk to and from treatment room. Slippers will no longer be provided.

My Responsibilities

1. Schedule clients 1 hour and a half apart, to honour social distancing and to allow time to clean/disinfect between appointments

2. Following disinfectant protocols: all door handles, light switches, railings, bathroom faucets, soap dispenser, baskets, toilet roll holder and toilet flush button after each client visit. Plus regular cleanings of premises.

3. I will be wearing a mask throughout your treatment and washing my hands before and after each treatment.

4. At this time I am not permitted to offer ear or facial reflexology. I will provide foot and if requested, hand reflexology in the 1 hour appointment.

5. Use clean foot towels, replace chair cover sheet and bathroom hand towel after each appointment usage.

6. Best payment option: e-transfer. I will accept cash and cheques

7. Book next appointment in the treatment room.

8. I will be social distancing (2 metres apart), avoiding gatherings of large groups, limiting the number of places I visit outside work, limiting contact with high-risk situations/people, not treating unwell clients and not giving treatments if I am unwell.

If you don’t feel safe following these protocols, it is probably best to wait and book an appointment/class at a later date.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your loyalty, support and understanding.

Warmly, Alana

What is Reflexology?

It is a non-invasive, natural therapy derived from the study of reflexes based on the principle that the reflexes of the feet, hands, ears and face map to other parts, organs and glands of the body. The method of communication is via the nervous system through touch. Specific hand and finger techniques illicit responses like:

• Relief of stress and tension

• Improved circulation

• Support to the body to function optimally

These above benefits apply to all.  You can also expect to see individual benefits based on your specific circumstances.
